About the Program
No one should face sarcoma alone. A sarcoma diagnosis can be isolating, and with more than 100 subtypes, finding someone who truly understands can be difficult. That is why the Sarcoma Foundation of America has partnered with Imerman Angels, a nonprofit organization that connects patients, survivors, caregivers, and others affected by cancer for one-on-one support.
Through this collaboration, we are working to reduce isolation, foster meaningful connections, and strengthen the sarcoma community through shared experiences so that every person impacted by sarcoma has someone to turn to.
Who Can Participate
This free peer-to-peer mentorship program is open to anyone affected by sarcoma, including patients, survivors, caregivers, and previvors (an individual who has an increased risk of developing sarcoma cancer).
Participants can:
· Connect with someone who has lived through a similar experience
· Find empathy, understanding, and hope
· Gain encouragement and guidance
· Build a stronger sense of connection and support within the sarcoma community
Interested in Becoming a Mentor?
We are also recruiting Mentor Angels, including patients, survivors, caregivers, and siblings of patients, who are ready to share their experience and support others affected by sarcoma. Mentor Angels volunteer their time to provide empathy, understanding, and perspective. Connections may begin with a single conversation and often grow into lasting friendships.
Sign-up as an SFA Sarcoma Mentor, and our partner Imerman Angels will support you with training and connections.
