Rob was an incredibly strong man who battled against metastatic malignant sarcomas for 16 years. He will be remembered for his positive attitude and determination through years of every treatment possible without complaint. He was loved and admired by family and many friends in Kansas, Colorado and Phoenix. He always expected to recover and return to the golf course and his active life. His last 5 weeks were spent in Mayo Hospital and as it became apparent that he might not return to his known quality of life he just wanted to come home. We will be forever grateful that he got the opportunity to once again sit in the sunshine with his beloved dog and his beloved wife. His children, stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandson learned many life lessons from Rob- to quote his son, Shawn: to never quit, to overcome challenges, to not be afraid to fail and to learn from failures. Rob will be dearly missed and remembered.
