Maren Davis

Maren passed peacefully away on Christmas Eve morning 2021 after a courageous 28-month battle against angiosarcoma. First diagnosed with primary AS in August 2019 at age 27, Maren never faltered in bravely facing every treatment — be it surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, injection, transfusion or medication. And although the AS continued to hide and grow, it never defeated Maren’s unconquerable soul. She remained her original and lovely self, always filled with indestructible hope and trust and laughter.

Maren loved reading and collecting books. She adored shoes and jeans. Disneyland was her favorite home-away-from-home with Big Thunder Mountain being her go-to ride. She could bounce back and forth between the ancient worlds of Greece and Rome (having a BA in Classics from UCI) and today’s worlds of anime, PlayStation games, and YA novels. Maren had begun working in legal document archiving and was finishing her paralegal studies in preparation for a future in the legal profession. Maren was eager to contribute her talents and energy to the daily workplace and to live her own human experience.

Since her passing, the outpourings of love and support have been tremendous. A crepe myrtle tree was planted in our local pocket park and was dedicated to Maren. An Angel Flight transported 100 pounds of blood product in her honor. Many supporters have given blood in remembrance of Maren. JRMA Architects and Engineers will be using Maren’s Cheshire Cat design suggestion for their entry in the 2021 Canstruction event and dedicating the build in her honor. We are humbled.

Maren was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and soulmate (to Allan). We miss her every day and long for the time when we will be reunited with our girl. Love you forever and ever, Maren! Our Hero. Our Warrior. Our Maren.
