My mother Nicole Abriel was diagnosed with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma stage four metastatic at age 45. She had a tumor the size of a tennis ball in her heart and had to undergo cardiac surgery where the surgeon was able to remove 90% of the tumor, the last 10% required chemotherapy. As of today her tumor is gone , however she takes a form of chemotherapy in a pill called Afinitor to keep the cancer from spreading anywhere else and sees her oncologist regularly with scans every 2-3 months. She is doing great and I can’t thank enough for her team of doctors at cedar Sinai who do their best at making sure my mother continues to live her life . Never give up there is always a solution and someone who is willing to give you a chance .Hold on to your faith and it will grow.
Words of Wisdom:
The words of wisdom that I continue to give my mother is celebrate your life everyday no matter how big or small it is, because as of today or in that moment you’re alive and well. Never let your cancer define you , your strength, or take away your moments because you’re in charge, not the other way around.
