Light Up for Sarcoma

On July 24, 2026, buildings and locations from across the country and globally will light their exteriors yellow to raise sarcoma awareness for Light Up for Sarcoma Day.

SFA’s Light Up for Sarcoma Day is planned for Friday, July 24, 2026!

Every year, SFA, volunteers, and other members of the sarcoma community reach out to buildings, monuments, and other locations asking them to light up yellow in support of sarcoma awareness. Visible initiatives like Light Up for Sarcoma are vital for raising awareness and standing in support of the global sarcoma community.

SFA encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to get involved:
-Is there a landmark in your area that you’d like to see illuminated? We encourage you to request that they participate and light up yellow! We have included a Light Up for Sarcoma request email template at the bottom of this page that you are welcome to use for your requests.
If you receive approval from your requested location, please let us know the landmark name, city, and state at communications@curesarcoma.org.

-Light up your space: Replace your regular lighting with yellow bulbs or add yellow spotlights to your exterior. Incorporate yellow ribbons in and around your space.

-Share your photos: Share photos of illuminated buildings and monuments on social media using #LightUpForSarcoma, #curesarcoma and #Sarcoma Awareness Month. Additionally, please email photos to communications@curesarcoma.org. View 2025 Photos

Subject line: Help Us Light Up Yellow for Sarcoma Awareness – July 24, 2026

Email content:

Hello,

I’m reaching out on behalf of Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve outcomes for those impacted by sarcoma, a rare and often overlooked cancer that impacts hundreds of thousands of people every year.

As part of Sarcoma Awareness Month this July, we are inviting landmarks, buildings, and stadiums across all 50 US states to participate in our “Light Up for Sarcoma” initiative by illuminating their buildings yellow on July 24, 2026. By lighting your building yellow, you help raise public awareness of this rare cancer, and act as a beacon of hope to patients, survivors, and caregivers all over the world.

For more than 25 years, SFA has worked to improve outcomes for sarcoma patients through advocacy, patient education and support, and research funding. Today, SFA is the largest private funder of research in the sarcoma community, having invested over $26 million to advance translational research and less toxic treatments. Your participation would play an important role in helping SFA advance these efforts to bring national and global attention to sarcoma.

Thank you for considering this opportunity and I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]
